Many of the issues and the settings they talk about are familiar and I have been through most of them. To the point, I have been successful in getting the 3 computers to see and talk to each other. With the exception of the W 10 computer not being able to browse into the shared folders on the W 7 computer that it can see over the network. The question is then why is it so inconsistent from day to day. After I posted the initial inquiry, for another reason I restarted the W 10 computer and voila!
But then the 8. I am reluctant to try too much more of tweaking settings as it appears to be fine just intermittent. Except the issue of W 10 being able to browse the W 7 computer. I am wondering if there is a bandwidth issue of an overloaded internet and home network router?
Hi Greg; Gee, that is so nice. I refuse to use any cloud based system. However, I noticed when setting up the new W 10 computer that your password to log into the computer also logs you into a Microsoft Account.
So, their infiltration is already getting hardwired. So, inconsistency aside, is there a remedy for why W 10 can see the W 7 computer and it’s defined shared folders, but can’t go into those folders?
My plan has been to relegate that computer off the internet after support is lost and use it as a scanning computer of old slides, etc. Which would then be nice to be able to copy over to a newer more capable computer. It’s old, but is still a good computer. Now, since on occasion the W 7 can apparently read and get into the W 10 machine folders going in that direction, maybe that will suffice.
But how ridiculous.
