By tonepoet , August 19, in Logic Pro. My new Logic Pro Book is out! Oh the Fade tool. I was thinking of the volume fader. You’re right Dan, the Fade tool only works on audio regions by design. You could always use volume automation to fade your MIDI regions. I have to disagree with David a little about always using the volume automation.

To do this you could either use the gain control in your compressor or send your track to a buss with a reverb and actually use the volume fader on the first track. Software instrument tracks, from within Logic. While a software instrument track is playing back, if you turn its volume fader all the way down, do you still see activity on its meters? No, I don’t see any activity. Just to confirm your instruction, I turned down the fader of the instrument playing. After doing this, didn’t hear the instrument nor did I see any meter activity. DanRad Posted August 20, Posted August 20, In my experience, the fade tool arrow with a little wedge beside it only works for audio.
