How to use denoiser in logic pro x free –
By Focus , May 15, in Logic Pro. I’ve got a small room and my mics are picking up noise from my computer. I also use a tube mic that is a bit noisy anyways.
I’m mostly recording vocals and acoustic guitar. I can’t seem to get settings that actually take away the noise without screwing up the original sound. Have you all had good experience with the denoiser?
How would you compare the denoiser to Waves X Noise? Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help. The denoiser isn’t a magic cureall, and it’s not all that great, unfortunately. You might get lucky using it on one track but not another. Having said that, I’ve heard that the denoising plugs in Soundtrack Pro are quite good. Noise from a tube mic? Maybe it’s time to change the tube? Or perhaps get the preamp looked at?
In any case, if the noise you get from it is most noticeable only in softer passages or pauses then you could try using a noise gate to bring the level of the track down no more than necessary; in other words, don’t let it clamp down on the signal so that it acts like a gate. Thanks for the input. I just ran a few tests to figure out exactly what’s going on.
I ran my tube condenser and a regular condenser into two different mic pres. It seems like the main issue is the computer being in the same room that I’m recording in. My tube mic is just super sensitive and is therefore noisier. In order to fix the issue at the source do you have any suggestions other than pulling the computer out of the room which would be a tough thing to do given my setup?
Is it possible for you to move the pieces of equipment around the room, to see if there is a spot where your mic will pick up less of the computer noise? What kind of computer have you got that its generating so much noise?
MBP 2. I have a quad processor g5. My room is tiny. I’ll move the computer back the extra few feet I have. I’ve made sure the mic pres and tube are ok. I like the idea of building a box to help with the noise. I did some research online and people make these things and sell them for a ton of money. I’ll try and make my own Before you go to a lot of trouble building a box which will really need a clever passive radiator to disperse the incredible amount of heat those G5s generate , consider your recording needs.
Why not replace your G5 with a mini for a personal workstation? You’re obviously not recording live groups in a small room so the hard drive speed is probably not a limiting factor.
I have two setups for Logic: my wife’s dual G5 which lives under a desk in a spacious studio and its grating mechanical noise is easily drowned out by her Steinway grand piano. My songwriting workstation resides in a small bedroom. This consists of the most recent Mac mini upgraded to 2 gigs of RAM. You can actually stuff 3 gigs of RAM into it. Soon I will replace the stock gig drive with a new WD gig hard drive. If when? Another reason I like the mini is the hard drive is user replaceable whereas the iMac is a sealed unit.
The graphics power is fine with my 24 inch LCD screen. DIY ethic in effect, good move. As for a quieter fan, maybe skulk around here You can post now and register later. Using a denoiser will always be worse than recording without the noise in the first place. Logic Pro 9. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I’m running Logic Pro X On both of them, I can’t seem to find the speech enhancers, denoiser or groove shifter plugins – I think they’re supposed to be under the “Specialized” menu, but all that’s there is Exciter and SubBass. I may be missing other plugins as well.
Any ideas as to how I should proceed? Posted on Feb 6, AM. Hold down the Option key when clicking on the insert FX button in a strip and a new section will appear in the popup menu labelled Legacy You will find your ‘missing’ plugins there Note: Holding down Option and clicking on the Instrument button or the Channel Strip preset button will likewise reveal other options too to choose from Page content loaded.
Feb 6, AM. Are they deprecated now, then? Is there a better way of doing noise reduction in Logic that I’m missing? Not really sure I suspect so though however, given they are in the legacy section and ‘hidden’ away. It may be, there will be future replacements for the specific ones you mentioned.. Similar to the new EQ’s or Bass Amp stuff.. When you hold down Option and click on a channel strip button The selections there will replace the FX in a strip but not the instrument plugin itself Question: Q: Logic X More Less.
